‘Minecraft’ October Updates Are A Major Deal For Tweakers As Well As VR

Minecraft is getting close to a few updates that could fundamentally alter your gameplay when you want to play with the game’s mechanics… or simply take a trip into the virtual world. The October 18th update for Minecraft’s Windows 10 Pocket and Gear VR editions will come with Add-ons. They allow users to alter text files to change the behavior of objects and characters. Do you want giant chickens, or Creepers, that trigger massive explosions? It’s now relatively trivial. Consider it as an entry point into the world of game mods, without needing to learn programming.

VR gamers, on the other hand they will receive more advanced controller support. The Bluetooth-equipped Xbox One gamepad, similar to the one that comes with the Xbox One S, can be used in Windows 10 and Gear VR editions. Oculus Rift users can also utilize Oculus Touch hand controls. The update will make Minecraft in VR appear more like a desktop or mobile game.

The new version also adds boss battles to the Windows 10, Pocket and Gear VR versions.

Console gamers don’t have to wait until 18th April for something new. Microsoft and Mojang are coming out with the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up that, as the name suggests, introduces characters and a world that are influenced by the Chinese culture. You’ll also find banners and more natural biomes, including Igloos and polar bears, which are found in the arctic regions. Email will be available for Xbox and Wii U gamers on October 4th and PlayStation users on October 5th.
